St Kevin's GAA Club notes

September 22, 2008
The Intermediate team recovered well from another slow start to record a 0-10 to 0-8 win over Kill to claim a championship semi final spot. They trailed by 0-4 to 0-0 after 15 minutes but went on to dominate the remainder of the game thanks to excellent displays from Jason Brosnan, Antoine Carew, Michael Kenny, John Casey and man of the match Gordon Kearney. There was no joy for the 'B' team as they went down to Monasterevan in their quarter final clash. The under 16 team who were short the services of Gavin Craig and Dean O' Reagan were beaten 1-15 to 0-10 by a strong Balyna side in the semi final of the 'A' shield. Meanwhile it was a mixed week for the under 9's as they beat Carbury 0-8 to 0-5 last Wednesday evening. The scorers were Sean Byrne, Rebecca Brereton, Aaron Cullen, Liam Aspell and Ciaran Smyth. However they were beaten by Caragh on Sunday with the scores coming from Cormac Ward (0-5), Sean Byrne (0-2), and Ciaran Smyth (0-1). Next Saturday the under 8 team are at home to Cappagh at 1.30pm and the under 10 team are away to Nas na Riogh at 3pm.
