Castlewellan Notes

September 22, 2008
The Sunday Night Quiz returns to the Club on Sunday 28th September. Hosted by different Club members every week, the quiz will commence at 9pm sharp. So if you think you are wiser than Weaver, brainier than Bugsy, craftier than Cillian or just want a good night's craic come along every Sunday- everyone welcome Any club members who have information/reports/announcements they wish to be included in the club notes are asked to contact the club PRO- see website for details. Especially welcome would be information on ladies football and hurling.   Our thirds will contest the RFC championship final for the second year in a row on Saturday in Ballyholland at 1pm. It is a fantastic achievement reaching another final with such a small panel of players and everyone in the club wishes them all the best against Rostrevor. All support would be greatly appreciated on the day and hopefully there will be reason to celebrate in the club come Saturday evening.   Also good luck to our U-12 camogs who play near neighbours Liatroim in the league final. After already winning the county championship this year it would be fantastic if they could make it a double! Congratulations to Gavy Corrigan who will referee this years county senior championship final. It is the second time Gavy has been given this honour and it confirms his stauts as one of the top and most respected referees in the county. Everyone in Castlewellan wishes him all the best in Sunday's game. The old guys overcame the young pretenders in Saturday's annual hurling challenge. 38 players participated in what was a hugely enjoyable game and once again the older members of the club's hurling team showed the younger players how it should be done! Underage coaching on Saturday morning resumes on September 27th.   Bingo as usual on Friday night.   The Club lottery jackpot now stands at £7250- well worth a quid!   For all revised fixtures please see club window.
