Fergal O'Donnell
Roscommon's 2006 All-Ireland minor winning manager Fergal O'Donnell has been elevated to the senior post after his appointment was ratified at a special county board meeting on Thursday night. He is Roscommon's fourth manager this year, replacing Michael Ryan who was in charge for the championship. Ryan had taken over from caretaker Paul Earley, who stepped in to complete the National League programme following John Maughan's controversial resignation in March. The former midfielder, who captained Roscommon to their last Connacht SFC success in 2001, was the county board and fans' choice for the position after leading the Rossies to their first All-Ireland minor title in 51 years two years ago. It is expected that his selection team will be made up of his right-hand men from two years ago who are: Declan Hoare, Ross Shannon, Stephen Bohan and Mark Dowd.
