Hurling chairman salutes achievements
September 18, 2008
Sligo hurling board chairman Tom Brennan has paid tribute to the county's various teams for having such an extraordinary year.
Ahead of Saturday's All-Ireland minor 'C' championship decider, Brennan said:
"It would be a dream come true if we could complete the treble. The county team's great win in the Nicky Rackard Cup and Coolera's success in the Feile competition have given hurling a tremendous boost in the county.
"It would round off a magnificent year if the minors could take the All-Ireland on Saturday.
"There are players from all over the county on the [minor] panel and that is very encouraging as it proves that the promotion of the game is not just confined to a few areas."
