Ó hAilpín stays on as O'Sullivan considers future

Three weeks on from his side's All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeat to Kilkenny, Séan Óg Ó hAilpín has confirmed that he will continue to line-out for Cork for the foreseeable future. Speaking at a promotional launch yesterday (Monday) the All Star defender, who made his debut for the Rebels back in 1996, indicated his desire to continue playing with Cork for at least another year. "My body feels alright and as long as my body feels fine I'm going to continue," said Ó hAilpín. "I'm going to put my name forward for next year and hopefully the year after. That's alright me saying it but if a new coach comes in he mightn't agree. It's up to the coach but I'm available for selection next year." However, fellow defender Diarmuid O'Sullivan was not as clear about his future, stating that he had 'nothing to prove to anyone'. "People have been saying that I'm 36, 37 for the last few years. I'm only 30. A lot of people have written me off and it is up to me to decide if I want to answer those questions and prove the critics wrong," said O'Sullivan. "I know in my heart that I have nothing to prove to anyone. I think that I have acquitted myself quite admirably over the last 11 championship seasons. If I decide to go hurling with Cork next season, it will be my decision, no-one else's."
