SHC enters final round

August 29, 2008
The final round of the senior hurling championship takes place this weekend, and there is a lot at stake for four clubs in particular. Castletown and The Harps meet in a ' winner takes all' tie in Group C. Victory for either side will see them join Ballinakill in the quarter-finals, while a loss will consign them to a relegation battle. The Group A clash of Clonad and Abbeyleix will also decide who ends up in a relegation battle. Having lost their first two games in a group with four teams, victory for either side can only guarantee safety. The other games taking place this weekend are Portlaoise v Tinnahinch, Camross v Kilcotton and Rathdowney-Errill v Clough-Ballacolla, but there is only pride at stake as all six teams are already through to the quarter-finals.
