Kavanagh says Cork could do without Walsh challenge

August 23, 2008
Cork full-back Derek Kavanagh says facing a physically powerful Kerry team any year is always difficult but the inclusion of newcomer Tommy Walsh in their ranks this year will make the Rebel County's task in this weekend's All-Ireland SFC semi-final all the more difficult. Kavanagh admits that keeping Kieran Donaghy quiet is a difficult enough challenge but with Walsh on board, the Cork defenders' jobs are even harder. "It's no secret that they are a very physical team and we are used to playing them," said Kavanagh. "They are pretty intimidating but we are trying every thing we can to be ready for them. "Just when you think that if you can keep one down, keep tabs on Donaghy, up comes another one into the full-forward line. Tommy Walsh has just made our job even harder."
