Wicklow’s John Keenan will referee Sunday week’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship final between Limerick and Kilkenny at Croke Park (3.30pm).
The 49-year-old previously refereed the 2019 Leinster final and the last year’s Munster final, having taken charge of the 2016 All-Ireland minor hurling final and 2018 All-Ireland U21 decider before that.
Sunday week’s showdown between the Treaty men and the Cats at headquarters will be the first time Keenan has been the man in the middle for a Liam MacCarthy Cup decider and also his last inter-county game as he reaches the age limit for selection before the 2024 season commences.
The Aughrim man’s umpires are Tommy Redmond (Tinahely) and Eddie Leonard (St Patrick’s), Paul Reville (Turin) and David Clune (Delvin), while his linesmen on the day will be Galway’s Liam Gordon and James Owens of Wexford and Liam will be the standby referee and the sideline official will be Shane Hynes (Galway).
TweetCongratulations to John Keenan who will referee the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final 2023. Well done John.
