Junior Men

The lads played St. Brigids on Tuesday and had a great win. Final score Blessington 2-15 to 3-07

Minor

The lads played a strong AGB team on Monday 13th. Blessington got off to a good start and first score and created enough chances but didn't convert. AGB did take their chances winning and won well in the end.

Thanks again to the U15 lads for helping make up the numbers.

Next up is Bray away on Sat 25th

U15’s

The lads travelled to Annacurra on Saturday evening for championshipwith very small numbers, unfortunately things didn’t go well for them but they gave it everything and fought a tough battled all the way through. Keep the heads up lads. Final Score Annacurra 5-14 to 1-11.

U13 Blue team

Well done to the Blues who played AGB on Monday. It was a brilliant game and the lads came away with a winning score line of Blesso 8-14 to 6-03.

U9’s/8’s

U9 go games this week at home with both Valleymount and Kilbride-Lacken travelling. With Great weather and big crowds it really added to the derby atmosphere. We  can certainly see improvement with every outing. Training on Monday. Keep an eye on texts for next match.

Ladies Football

U14’s

*Blue match report.*from Carnew game away on Saturday 18th.

2 out of 2 in 2 days.

Well if last Thursdays match got off to a sluggish start, this was like a rocket & they started with the right attitude and settled quickly into the game & dominated from the start.   All over the pitch we were strong with some super link ups & support play.  Backs were impenetrable with not one point conceded and the mids & forwards pressed so well.

JOINT POTM goes to Ava O D and Abbie OR for their super work rate.

2 out of 2 in Championship.

Final score :

Blessington 4-21

Carnew 0-0

Thanks to parents for travelling again.

White match report. from Clann ma Gael at home on Saturday the 18th.

Tough match this afternoon vs  Clanna Gael.  The girls started really strong with some super scores from our forwards and 2 great saves from Lucy.  It was an evenly matched start and we came in at half time 4-07 vs 4-0.

Clanna Gael came out stronger in the 2nd half and the scores went both ways until the last quarter when they just fired and we got frustrated and couldn't convert the simple passes and scores & had some silly play which was out of pure frustration & they capitalised on it.  They'd one superb player and Ellen Williamson did amazing job shutting her down.

The Girls heads were down after the match but we can still progress with a win next Sat.

POTM goes to our fearless and gutsy captain Ellen on super play all day,  battling for every ball.

Final score doesn't reflect the gutsy performance.

BLESSO 6-8

Clanna Gael 11-02

Thanks to parents for providing refreshments for the girls & the blue team players for coming up to support their team mates.

U10’s

U10 girls had a fantastic morning at a combined U8/U10 blitz in Ballinakill.

Some great performances and team play showed their hard work at training is really playing off. Thanks to all who travelled

U8’s.

Well done to all the girls from U8 who travelled to Ballinakill for their blitz this morning. The sun was shining and so were our little stars. They did themselves, their families and the club proud. Great to get back playing!

Academy

We had 27 children attend the academy on Saturday morning. There were plenty of football skills and games played. Thanks to the parents that got involved and thanks so much to our helpers. This week we had Ava King, Anna Carlyon and Aisling Brennan from our Ladies section and Austin Brennan, Max Featherstone and Adam Williamson from our Minors. Your help every week is very much appreciated. Also thanks to the HCT with the support of the executive  for the fruit that they provide every week. It always goes down a treat!

All Stars

We had the most fantastic morning on Sunday when we organised Sundae is Funday for all the children. Each child brought their favourite toy with them and was so willing to tell the story about each toy.

Then the highlight of the morning was the Ice-cream. Bella Crema very kindly offered to sponsor this for us and Darren arrived with plenty of Gelato and cones for everyone and also complimentary coffees for all the volunteers afterwards.  Thanks again to you all.
