Rathnew club notes

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

 

With the season started for all teams any club gear can be bought on the Rathnew shop on the O'Neill's website or just follow the link on our Facebook page. We also have a few jerseys for sale with details on our Facebook page. 

 

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 23rd April. Numbers 3, 8, 28, 30. We had 5 match 3's. John Healy c/o Centra, Niamh Daly c/o Rockies, Joy Gill c/o Kevin Gill, C.J.l c/o Lar Ellis, Linda Murphy c/o Catherine Kavanagh. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €10,500. Get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rockies, Healy's Mini Market, View hair & beauty, Malone's, Dowling's Butchers and Centra every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm. Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto. 

 

Membership is now well over due. It is vital that all adult and juveniles pay their membership or they are not covered if injured. If no effort is made to pay then they will be unable to train or play. Contact the team coaches for membership details.

 

The 2019 Kellogg's cul camp dates have been released. Rathnew will be hosting it the week starting the 12th of August. It's always a brilliant week for the kids so book early on kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or follow the link on our Facebook page.

 

The nursery is on every Saturday morning at 11.15. It's for all kids aged 3 upwards and is always great fun. Contact James Stafford 0833193238 for more details.

 

The annual Kevin Gill golf classic is on in Wicklow golf club on Saturday the 18th May. Contact Peter Dignam 0879882648 or Clifford Murphy 0868877794 for tee times. More details next week.

 

A good win for the intermediate team against Laragh on Friday evening. The junior B team made it two wins from two by beating An Tochar on Thursday evening next up is Newcastle away on Thursday. The senior team lost out to Baltinglass by two points on Sunday morning next up is Kiltegan on Wednesday night. The under 11 green team is away to Blessington on Wednesday while the under 15s are away to Eire Og on Friday evening. The under 13s are away to St. Kevins on Tuesday. Well done to the under 16 girls team who beat Eire Og on Thursday. They had no less than 3 sets of sisters playing together, Sophie and Leah Murphy, Jessica and Vicky Moxley, Kayleigh and Kara Doyle. Hard luck to the ladies team who lost to An Tochar on Sunday evening. 

 

A very happy birthday to club legend Ann McDonald who turned 70 last week. Well done to Cole Byrne on becoming All Ireland boxing champion on Saturday and hard luck to Callum Clark who lost his final, An unbelievable effort from both lads. Condolences to Keiron Kenny and his family in Tinahely on the passing of Jim may he rest in peace.
