Baltinglass were crowned Wicklow senior football champions for the 22nd time in their history after they scored a five point (1-14 to 1-9) win over St Patrick's in Aughrim today.
A seven point contribution from 'man-of-the-match' Joey Kelly was vital as the winners bridged a nine year gap to their last success while it was a third final defeat in-a-row for luckless St Patrick's.
Sean O'Brien raised a green flag for the winners in the opening period but that was cancelled out by a Stephen Duffy penalty after the resumption.
Eight players made the scoresheet for Baltinglass, who led by four points at the halfway stage, while Duffy top scored for the losers with 1-5.
