Championship Report
Ballycomoyle Under 14s v Killucan
Wednesday, 24th June 2026
Ballycomoyle’s Under 14 boys welcomed Killucan to Ballycomoyle on Wednesday evening for their first game since being promoted from Division 3. Played in glorious sunshine on a very hot summer’s evening, the conditions made for a demanding contest.
Killucan started the stronger side and maintained a high tempo throughout the opening half. Ballycomoyle battled hard but trailed at the break against a well-organised and impressive visiting team.
The home side emerged with renewed determination after halftime and played some lively, attacking football. Despite Ballycomoyle’s improved display, Killucan continued to show their quality, kicking a number of excellent scores to extend their advantage.
To their credit, the Ballycomoyle lads never let their heads drop. They dug deep, worked tirelessly until the final whistle, and were rewarded with some superbly worked scores of their own. Their effort, determination, and fighting spirit were evident throughout the second half against a very strong Killucan team.
Well done to both teams for producing an entertaining game in the hot conditions, and best of luck to Killucan for the remainder of the season.
Ferbane Blitz.
Ballycomoyle Mothers & Others travelled to Ferbane on Saturday, 27th June, to take part in a fantastic blitz hosted by Ferbane GAA.
The team played four enjoyable games throughout the day, with plenty of great football, laughter and camaraderie on display. It was a brilliant day’s craic, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the occasion both on and off the pitch.
A huge thank you to Ferbane GAA for organising such a fantastic and well-run blitz. Events like these are a great way to bring clubs together and promote the Mothers & Others initiative.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Nolan Sound for generously sponsoring our new gear, which looked fantastic on the day, and to DS Sports for having everything ready in time for today’s event.
Well done to everyone involved, and we look forward to many more great days like this!
