Under 14 Div3 Final 05/10/2025
St Michaels 2-05
Lillyput Gaels 7-12
Castletown Geoghegan played host to the under 14 Division 3 rescheduled championship final on Sunday morning last
St Michaels arrived early and prepared for the match with focus and determination.
The game started in glorious sunshine and a slight breeze favouring the home side.
St Michaels opened the scoring with some fine points before Lillyput got into the game.
An even first half was followed by a dominant display from Lillyput in the second half which St Michaels struggled to cope with.
Lillyput ran out worthy champions.
This match brought the curtain down on a fantastic year for this group of young men.
From the cold evenings in February at the astro in Ringtown a large group stuck together throughout. Divided into 2 teams for the league with help from u12s to make up numbers. The championship was decided to go with one team. Competition for places was fierce and this pushed performance levels of the lads to achieve some memorable victories along the way.
Many thanks to the parents for bringing the boys twice a week to train then games.
Thanks to both clubs, thanks to the Co board and Barry Kelly for scheduling matches and answering queries swiftly.
Thanks to GDA Emmet Corrigan and coach Ryan Plunket for the early session in Ringtown.
Thanks to Rob and Tjaye for enthusiastic encouraging coaching all season.
Most of all thanks to the players. For those moving up to under 16. We wish them well and hope they will look back at their time at under 14 with great memories, for those staying till next year we have a great foundation to build on.
Also many thanks to Mike for all his hard work all year.
The under 14 lads were looked after by a super Management team.
Many thanks lads.
