Ladies football championship
Result.
LGFA Championship U16 Round 5
Venue: Moate
Time: 7 pm.
We played our final group game in the championship on Tuesday evening last 26/8/25 against a strong and determined Moate side. From the throw-in, Moate quickly gained possession to score the opening goal. They hit Ballycomoyle girls with a quick second goal. However, the Ballycomoyle girls got to grips with the pace and with a lovely move hit Moate with a goal of their own. Both teams traded scores playing some lovely football.
Into the 2nd half and again, Moate were dominated but Ballycomoyle girls was not done and really never gave up. However, Moate scored again, and this made the task even harder. Unfortunately, on the Full Time whistle, our winning streak was ended, we await the final draw for the knockout stages, This team the girls will be ready for anyone they meet.
Full time Score.

Under 14 girls championship result and report.
The Ballycomoyle under 14 girls made the long journey to Caulry on a very wet and wild August evening last Thursday to play Caulry in the last round of the championship for 2025 before the knockout stages.
The girls played against the wind in the first half, and Caulry took full advantage of this going in at half time on a scoreline of 5 points to Ballycomoyles 1 goal.
The Ballycomoyle girls started the 2nd half with great strength and determination and were in full contention against strong home side, but 2 Goals late on in the second half gave the home side the win and at the final whistle it was Caulrys victory.
Scoreline 2 7 to 2 2
Thanks very much to all the parents who travelled on a terrible evening, and who all had to come home in the dark, thank you to Caulry, and we wish them well in the Semi final,.
Huge thanks to all the girls who battled very hard for the whole game.
We can hold our heads up high mixing it with the top teams in this division.

Under 16 Championship Division 3.Round 5.
Result.
Another extremely frustrating evening for our St Michaels under 16 team the game Swung one way then the other in a thrilling game of football we found ourselves down by 5 points at half time but we came out fighting after the break with some fantastic play and ended up 7 points in front coming down the final stretch of the game, to there credit Delvin/St Paul’s never gave up and chipped away at the lead with seconds left and St Micheal’s 2 points to the good our opponents launched one last attack and with a long ball put in the ball ended up in the back of the St Michaels net, leaving our boys beaten by 1 point in the last kick of the game.
Final Score: St Michaels 3-09.
Delvin / St Paul's 4-07
Congratulations to Delvin/St Paul’s and we wish them the very best of luck in the rest of this years Championship.

St Michaels 5-15
Millmore Gaels 1-4
On a wet Wednesday evening last 27/8/25 in Ballycomoyle St, Michaels welcomed Millmore Gaels to contest the final round of the championship league phase.
Early downpours made way for sunshine as the referee got the match underway.
The home team took control early and didn't let off throughout the 1st half.
Millmore mounted a comeback early in the 2nd half, but the st Michaels backs held out and cleared their lines.
Transitions were swift and the forwards picked off some fine scores.
Best of luck to Millmore Gael's in the quarter final and thanks to Jimmy Weldon who stepped in for James Mc Grath.
Next up is what we have trained for from the dark evenings of last January, knock out football.
Congratulations to the St Michaels under 14 team and their management team in reaching the knockout stages of this years championship.ddd
