U16 Division 1 Camogie Championship
Lough Lene Gaels played Drumraney in a Round 3 Divisional fixture fixture of the U16 Division 1 Camogie Championship at Decotek Park Collinstown on Monday July 7th.
The opening quarter of play was very keenly contested, Lough Lene Gaels hitting two goals and a sequence of top quality points, Drumraney responding with a goal and three points in the time period of five minutes, Elisa Mallon the Drumraney goalscorer. Lough Lene Gaels in turn then responded by scoring two goals and further points as the first half drew towards a conclusion. Lough Lene Gaels had possession of the match lead at half time.
After the teams had swapped points in the third quarter of this fixture, Lough Lene Gaels goalkeeper Keelin Kavanagh, who took up goalkeeping duties for the second half of this fixture, moved quickly to her right to make a super catching save. From her quickly struck clearance, Lough Lene Gaels set up an attacking move from midfield, an attacking move that concluded with Jenny O'Neill scoring a goal with a low crisp drive. Lough Lene Gaels then proceeded to hit over a sequence of points to bring match scoring to a finale. This U16 Division 1 Round 3 match was won by Lough Lene Gaels.
