Lough Lene Gaels had to come from arrears of five points at half time to win this David Smyth Catering Senior Camogie Championship Group 2 Round 2 fixture, played at Delvin on Sunday August 27th. At half time, Lough Lene Gaels 0.05 Delvin 3.01, was the match scoreline, and certainly Lough Lene Gaels, trailing by a margin of five points, were in a very difficult match situation. 

 

With under 10 minutes of normal playing time left, Delvin led by a margin of three points, and defeat started to look a realistic possibility for Lough Lene Gaels. In a dramatic finale, Lough Lene Gaels obtained important scores, winning this Divisional fixture by a one point margin.

 

For the first time since 2019, Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club has won at least 

two Divisional fixtures in the Westmeath Senior Camogie Championship in the same playing season. Lough Lene Gaels will complete its schedule of fixtures in Group 2 of this competition with the playing of a Round 3 fixture versus Raharney.
