JFC v Moate All-Whites
We play our fifth and final Junior 1 Football Championship group match against Moate All-Whites in Shandonagh on Sunday at 1.45pm.
While we are already assured of a place in the knockout stages, another win would see us finish top of the group and thus face the fourth-placed team in the other group in the quarter-finals. Best of luck to the lads.
New Forest Gaels
The Kilbeggan-Tyrrellspass combination, New Forest Gaels, continued their winning ways with a thrilling 4-17 to 2-21 victory over Multyfarnham in the U17 Division 3 Championship last Monday evening, August 14 in Kilbeggan.
Mothers&Others to play in National Blitz
The club has been selected to play in the Sports Direct National Gaelic4Mothers&Others National Blitz Day which is being jointly hosted by the Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester’s clubs in Dublin on Saturday, September 16.
This is a great honour for our Mothers&Others team which was only formed a few months ago. We are organising a bus to bring the ladies to Dublin for what should be a marvellous occasion.
Ballynacargy U11 girls’ tournament
As part of their centenary celebrations, Ballynacargy GAA are hosting an U11 girls’ tournament on Saturday morning which we have been invited to take part in.
Eight teams are participating and this is a great opportunity for the older girls from our U10s and the younger girls from our U12 team to get used to playing together before next year when they will make up our U12 team. There will be medals and ice-cream, so a great morning – starting at 11am – is in store.

Last week’s lucky numbers were 4, 18, 22 and 25. Tara Carroll was the only Match 3 winner. Thanks to everyone for their support. The jackpot is capped at €15,000. You can purchase your tickets in local shops or online.
