Under 8 and 10 Girls:

Our U8 and U10 Girls brought their 2019 season to a close on Friday night. As has been the case all year, the threat of bad weather couldn’t dampen these girls’ enthusiasm, with 40/+ girls taking part in a fun match under the lights.

 

Afterwards it was time to head indoors to get stuck in to the pizzas and treats. Our thanks to those who organised the food and ensured there was plenty to go around for all the players, siblings and parents. It has been a busy year for these girls since they started out on 23rd February. We have had numerous Blitzes and games throughout the season, with some of the highlights being:

⁃ LGFA U10 Blitz in Croke Park in April

⁃ St Loman’s Leinster U10 Blitz at the end of August

⁃ U9 and U11 Blitzes in Maynooth last month

⁃ and of course the St Loman’s Street Leagues

The turnouts throughout the year have been terrific, and for that we must thank the parents who continue to support and encourage their daughters, regardless of weather or venue. We also wish to thank everyone that helped out at our Blitzes during the year - we could not run these events without you.

A big thank you to our hugely committed coaches without whom none of this would be possible - Maurice, Lorraine, Eoghan, Donal and Benji. Finally, our thanks to all of the U8 and U10 Girls who have worked so hard all year. We had the odd tear now and again, but mostly it has been huge commitment, terrific football, great fun and loads of smiles. Enjoy the break and we look forward to seeing you all again next season.
