Corofin manager Kevin O'Brien has added recently retired club legend Kieran Fitzgerald to his backroom team.
Fitzgerald brought the curtain down on a remarkable playing career in April and has since taken up a management role under O'Brien.
The veteran defender bowed out on a high, announcing his retirement just weeks after Corofin's historic All-Ireland SFC three-in-a-row.
In total, the 39-year-old amassed 14 Galway SFC titles, seven Connacht SFC crowns and four All-Ireland SFC medals during his 22-year involvement as a senior club player.
Corofin's bid for an eight successive county SFC title will begin in Group 4A against All-Ireland intermediate champions Oughterard on August 2.
