Cavan made it two wins from two in the Tailteann Cup this afternoon by seeing off London on a 0-18 to 2-6 scoreline in Ruislip.

Mickey Graham’s side improved on their below par first-half showing, which saw them lead by the minimum (0-8 to 1-4) at half-time, by adding 10 points to their tally after turnaround to seal the win.

Last year’s runners up had been 0-5 to 0-3 in front when Liam Gallagher slammed in a goal for the hosts with 10 minutes remaining in the first-half and they’d goal again through Enda Lynn in the 57th minute to undo some of the Breffni men’s good work throughout the third quarter in the English capital.

Paddy Lynch and Conor Rehill kicked the last two scores to ensure that there’d be no upset, as Cavan now head into their third-round clash against Offaly with maximum points.

In Netwatch Cullen Park, Limerick produced a strong second-half performance to record a 1-19 to 0-14 win against Carlow and underline their own status as contenders in the competition.

An airtight first-half ended all square on 0-8 apiece before the Treaty men rattled in a goal via wing back Paul Maher that saw them taking a foothold in the game.

Peter Nash and Brian Donovan stretched the visitors advantage with white flags and the margin would stand at eight in the end.
