Dulwich Harps club notes

May 31, 2021

Our ladies team continued their unbeaten run in the league with a 7.06-2.11 win over Tara’s on Saturday in Mitcham. Goals from Jill Butler, Nadine Rainey and Jess Mc Gill helped establish an early lead in the first quarter. Tara’s converted a penalty to reduce the margin but the Harps were quick to respond with scores from Marie Carr, Sadb Ní Ghiollain and Anne Marie Ballanyne. Jill Butler was effective in securing breaking ball at full forward and added to her personal tally to complete a hat-trick.

That evening, after a solid performance in full back, Edel Neary marked her 30th birthday with a gathering of friends and team mates at The Kilkenny Tavern. The ladies now have a well-earned break from competition until they meet St Anthony’s in round five of the league in two weeks’ time.

The men’s team are set to make a first ever Intermediate Championship Final appearance next Saturday 5th June. They will take on St Brendan’s in Mc Govern Park, Ruislip with throw in at 5pm. We invite all members, friends and family to join us in supporting the team on what is a historic occasion for the club.

Men’s training continues as usual on Tuesday and Thursday evening. The ladies are off for the bank holiday so will resume training on Wednesday. All sessions start at 7.15pm on Peckham Rye Common.
