Harlesden Harps club notes

May 10, 2021

Upcoming fixture:

Harlesden Harps continue their 2021 league campaign this weekend against St Kiernans, on Sunday May 15th at 4:00pm in Montrose Park, The Greenway, Colindal, Edgware, Barnet, HA3 0DS. As usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.

Keep an eye on https://twitter.com/harlesdenharps during the week for any changes to the match details.

Previous match:

After the positive results in the league of the last few weeks Championship football returned for the Harps on Sunday. And it must be said our solid league showings stood to us as we produced some quality football on the way to a commanding win on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-03. One of the most pleasing aspects of the win was the fact we shared out our scores to 11 different players, Ryan McSherry the man to pop up with the major but some other fine scores from the likes of Ashley O’Halloran, Aaron Foley and Brian Diver. However, not to be outdone by the attackers the collective effort in protecting our goal and snuffing out any scores for the opposition was equally as impressive and it’s hard to argue with club stalwart Sean O’Halloran earning the man of the match award – great to have the big man back from Oz! Back to the league campaign this weekend (see above) and a chance to play for a starting place for the Junior Championship final in three weeks time.

Training:

Training continues every week taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). A physio will be there on Tuesdays for any niggles you may have. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.
