Exclusion of NI viewers from RTÉ 'Up For The Match' competition criticised

The continued exclusion of Northern Ireland viewers from the RTÉ 'Up For The Match' competition has been described as "shocking and unacceptable".
The popular TV programme, which returned last night after a three-year break, with presenters Des Cahill and Jacqui Hurley, offered a prize of premium level tickets for the All-Ireland SHC final, along with a €250 Supermacs Plaza Group voucher, a two-night stay at the The Gibson Hotel and €2,000 spending money.
However, entries were open to "Republic of Ireland residents only" as viewers and listeners from the north have not been allowed to enter RTÉ radio, TV and online competitions since the beginning of 2019 following regulatory changes.
"Shocking and unacceptable that once again people from Tyrone, Fermanagh, Antrim, Down, Armagh and Derry are not eligible to enter @rte ‘Up for the Match’ comórtas," Sinn Fein councillor Barry McElduff tweeted.
"The night before the All Ireland Hurling Final, too."
