The AGM took place on Sun 24th Nov and following presentations to the members by the outgoing Chair Person Phillip Mc Court, Secretary Ciaran O’Hagan and Treasurer Peter Mc Grath on the Games, Culture, Activities and successes and challenges of 2019 in the club, the members duly re-appointed the President John Mc Cann and the Vice-Presidents: Canon Benny Fee, Father John Mc Callion, Jackie Corr, Hughie Cushnahan, Pat Cushnahan, Geardie Mc Aliskey, Mick Mc Cann, Stephen Mc Court, Joey Mc Lernon, Kevin Quinn and newly appointed Gerry Taggart.
The floor was opened to the members for general discussion and discussion more specifically on teams, games and infrastructure development for the 2019 year and into the year 2020. Contributions from the floor included congratulations to the current committee and chairperson and acknowledgment of the latter’s link to previous Chairpersons including the incumbents great uncle Henry Mc Court at a time and the great developments that have taken place at the shore since. Acknowledgement was made of those members that have passed on and thanks given for their contribution within the club over their life-times. The outgoing Chairperson’s Report and Secretary’s Report were sent and are available by email to all members.

The next Committee Meeting is provisionally arranged for Mon 10th Dec Time TBC. The Club Mass is planned for Thurs 28th Nov at 7.30pm in St Bridget’s Brocagh.
Senior/Reserve football winter training continues as per Team WhatsApp. Good luck from all at the Kevin Barry’s to Tyrone club Galbally in the Ulster Intermediate Final. We are organising our community concert "Christmas @ the shore" which will take place Sunday 22nd Dec in The Washingbay Centre. Practice continues Sun mornings 11am in the Washingbay Centre. Proceeds from this event will be going to DKB Youth Development & Sperrinview Special School. If you push a pram or buggy and would like to join others who are interested in Walking to Fitness then come along to this programme at the Washingbay Walkway. Walk and Push at your own leisure, female/males and all ages welcome.
Lastly well done to Derrylaughan man Peter Mc Mahon and to all the Irish in Sydney and beyond on their humanitarian efforts following the recent bushfires/drought and in particular their Water Run to drought ravaged Armidale. Peter and the many Irish in Australia have be acknowledged on the News worldwide and on Social Media for their efforts and the thanks given my the people affected and rightly so. Maith sibh!
