Adult Football;

Sigersons were defeated by Ardboe last weekend on a score line of 2-14 to 0-10, Sigersons started the game brightly however Ardboe goals before and after the interval killed any Strabane revival.

Sigersons reserves were also defeated on Sunday 5-8 2-6 by Ardboe, goals were Strabane's downfall along with at six of their own goal chances saved by the Ardboe goalkeeper.

This Saturday Strabane will face Urney in Clady on Saturday evening, the reserve game will be at 5pm whereas the senior game will throw in at 6.30pm, let's get a huge Strabane support out on Saturday evening.

 

Youth Football;

On Wednesday night (7th) our Under 14 boys will be in the Grade 1 League Final against Dungannon in Carrickmore at 7.30pm, all support is greatly appreciated. Good luck to all the lads and the management of Dermot McGrath, Sean Barkley and Michael Quigg.

 

Sigersons under 14 boys booked their place in the grade 1 league Final by beating Donaghmore in a pulsating encounter on Thursday night in Clogher. A superb night for the club to be back into another county final is brilliant, massive congratulations to the management Dermot McGrath, Sean Barkley and Michael Quigg who have guided these lads so well however they are fully aware that this team are by no means finished. On the night Strabane were served best by Oisin McGranaghan in goal, Oisin Kelly, Oisin McGillion and Eoin Barkley with Oran McGrath's six points vital also, however Gabriel Corry was the star man as he quelled the Donaghmore danger man throughout the game.

Congratulations to Sigersons under 14 boys who travelled to Derry on Saturday and came home victorious winning the 'Caolan Cup'. The lads played four games and won all four, first up was Slaughtmanus who were defeated 3-5 to 1-6. Next up against Claudy, the lads won 5-7 to 0-1, after a short break the boys were up against foreglen, who with Banagher were fancying themselves to win this tournament, but the Strabane lads were there again to show these Derry teams what they were made of. They defeated Foreglen 6-05 to 1-04 and in the final game they defeated Banagher 5-04 to 1-01 which meant the cup was well and truly deserving to be going back up the road to Strabane.

 

The Under 14 Girls were victorious over Beragh on Monday in Sigersons to book a place in the Championship Semi Final against Coalisland.

 

Training for all youth team under the ages of 12 are as follows;

Girls Go-Games training for girls in classes P3-Y8 Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm.

Boys Go-Games training for boys in classes P3-Y8 Fridays from 6:30-7:30pm.

Gaelic Start Training for Boys & Girls in P1 & P2 classes Friday 6:30-7:30pm.

 

Health & Wellbeing;

Strabane Sigersons G.A.A. Neighbourhood Renewal Project is hosting an event as part of Men's Health Week titled "A bit of Banter around the Bridges" on Wednesday 14th June @ 7pm commencing at Melvin Hall Strabane and going around the three bridges in the town and finishing up again at Melvin Hall.

It's quite an informal event that is aimed at getting males out walking and talking, provide them with some health and wellbeing literature and possibly recruit them for future events or campaigns.
