Shelmaliers star Conor Hearne and Starlights goalkeeper Pa Doyle have been named the Wexford Club Hurler and Footballer of the Year for 2020.

Hearne played an influential midfield role to help Shels towards their first county senior hurling title in six years, while Doyle was outstanding between the posts as Stars captured the football crown for the eleventh time when dethroning Castletown in the final.

It was a double success for Shels at last night's Cairde Loch Garman virtual awards on Wexford GAA TV as Ross Banville won Young Hurler of the Year. Castletown's Liam Coleman was the recipient of Young Footballer of the Year.

Senior champions Shelmaliers and Starlights feature prominently in the Teams of the Year. There's a notable inclusion in the hurling selection for Glynn-Barntown's Conor Mahoney, a member of the newly crowned Ireland's Fittest Family.
