Michael Darragh Macauley has no intention of hanging up his inter-county boots.

The 2013 Footballer of the Year took time out from Ballyboden St Enda’s preparations for tomorrow’s Leinster Club SFC final against Eire Og to appear on The Late Late Show last night and indicated that he will be available for selection as the Sky Blues aim to make it six All-Ireland SFC wins in-a-row.

On Jim Gavin’s shock departure as manager, MDMA told presenter Ryan Tubridy that the former manager’s “legacy speaks for itself”.

He added: “It’s an end of an era, there’s no point in hiding from it.

“It was a bit sad but the lads are pretty motivated athletes, are able to turn things around pretty quick and already have their heads up looking at next year and what’s going to happen next.”

The midfielder wasn’t able to shed any light on the identity of Gavin’s replacement.

“We have no idea, there are a few names being bandied about but we have no idea. Wait and see.”
