Workrate was the key, says Gleeson

After watching his side capture the Tipperary SHC crown last Sunday, Thurles Sarsfields manager Michael Gleeson lauded his team's work rate during their 0-14 to 0-5 win over Drom & Inch in the final.
The championship win was Sars 30th in their history, so it's understandable why the man they call 'Glossy' was a proud one on Sunday.
"We are thrilled - this is our 93rd time getting together this year - we are at it since the 6th of February. In the last few weeks things have really taken off and we worked very hard on working for one an another and I think that's what really won it for us today," said Gleeson.
In the build up to the decider against Drom & Inch, Gleeson said he had drilled it into his players' minds to work for each other and that the result would be a victory.
"We tried to get across the notion that the winning of this game today was going to be our defensive work - not just our defenders defending, but also our forwards defending. From number 15 back, the whole emphasis was on workrate and working for one another. We put that forward very strongly and I think it paid off," he added.
