A freak accident at training has ruled Tipperary midfielder Michael Breen out of action for up to a month.

This means the versatile Breen will miss the remaining games in the Munster SHC round robin phase as he recovers from an ankle injury.

The Ballina clubman was picked to play midfield against Cork last Sunday, but suffered the injury during training the previous Thursday night.

Breen has had a scan on the injury and it revealed that there is damage to the ligaments meaning a spell on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, in better news for the Tipp camp, Cathal Barrett is back to full fitness and will be available for selection for the Limerick match on Sunday week.
