Leo Kenny Cup (Connacht League) Final: Pearses 1-15 Louisburgh(Mayo) 1-7 Padraig Pearses retained the Leo Kenny cup with a fine display last Sunday in Hyde Park. Louisburgh started brightly and led 0-3 to 0-2 after 10 minutes but that was as good as it got for the Mayo men as Pearses dominated the rest of the half. There was some fine point taking thereafter with Sean Fahey leading the line with six points three from play and with Mike Duignan, Paul Duke and John Connell also on the scoresheet Pearses went in at half-time 0-12 to 0-3 to the good. It was a more determined Louisburgh team that took the field in the second half and slowly they began to reduce the deficit but a fine Enda Barrett point eased Pearses nerves, this was followed by an Eana Ryan goal after a good run from Denis Whyte. Louisburgh struck back immediately with a converted penalty and it took a fine Mossy Dolan save to halt the comeback. Two more Sean Fahey points sealed the game in what was a fine win for Pearses.
