Rossies, Red Hands and Donegal make it two from two in Nickey Rackard Cup

April 17, 2022

Roscommon, Tyrone and Donegal win again.

Second half goals from Cathal Dolan, Mickey Joe Egan and Brendan Mulry steered Roscommon to an impressive 3-26 to 1-14 victory over Warwickshire in the second round of the Nickey Rackard Cup at Dr Hyde Park.

Luke Hands' major had Warwickshire within touching distance of the hosts at half-time by which stage they trailed 0-12 to 1-7, but they were out of sight once Dolan netted Roscommon's opening goal on 55 minutes.

In the day's early throw-in in the fourth tier championship, Tyrone defeated neighbours Fermanagh 1-18 to 1-14.

Following yesterday's Ulster SFC clash between the counties, the sides met again at O'Neill's Healy Park where the home team were the front-runners for most of the contest with their third minute goal setting the tone.

At Letterkenny, Donegal also made it two wins from two when beating Armagh 1-20 to 2-14.

Ronan's McDermott's goal from a sideline cut for Mickey McCann's charges went a long way towards deciding this Ulster derby.
