INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - RELEGATION SEMI FINAL
Raheen Intermediate Footballers secured their Intermediate Championship status for 2014 at the first attempt as they easily won their Relegation Semi Final against Clonbullogue last Friday evening on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-04. Raheen opted to play with the strong breeze in the first half and this proved beneficial as Raheen hit the ground running scoring the first 5 points before Clonbullogue got off the mark with a pointed free on 9 mins. Raheen added another point moments later. Shortly afterwards there was a break in play for well over 10 mins due to an injury to a Clonbullogue player. When play resumed Clonbullogue attempted to to get back into it but Raheen thwarted their efforts and continued on from where they had left off adding 6 points without reply and so at halftime Raheen held a commanding lead of 0-12 to 0-01. Clonbullogue marginally reduced the deficit inside the first 10 mins of the second half with 3 pointed frees to Raheen's single point. Then on 16 mins came the decisive moment of the game when Padraig Bracken took a free about 15m inside his own half where he picked out Richie Reynolds about 30m out on the wing who caught it overhead, turned and took off on a blistering run into the square before burying the ball into the net for the first goal. Clonbullogue replied with a point but 5 mins later it was game set and match as Raheen struck for goal no 2 when Niall Dempsey's long distance high shot was dropping just short of the crossbar but the quick thinking Richie Reynolds pounced in to get his hand to it and tap it into the net. Raheen were now home and dry and finished out the game with ease adding 3 more points without reply to wrap it up.

JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
It was a bitterly disappointing day for Raheen Junior Footballers last Saturday as their dreams of Championship glory were quashed by rivals Tubber in the Final of the Junior B Championship in Killurin as Tubber claimed the win and the title on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-04 in a game played in extremely wintry conditions throughout. Raheen were playing against the elements in the first half and although they created plenty of scoring chances they were in extreme hard luck that they could not get the final touch on them to turn them into scores and while Tubber also missed a lot of scoring opportunities they did manage to put 4 points on the board. Raheen need the first score of the second half but it was Tubber who increased their tally with 2 more points. Raheen finally got off the mark in the 15th min with a pointed free from Liam Gorman and added 2 more points over the next 5 mins from Eoghan Bolton and Liam Gorman which brought Raheen right back into it but then in the 23rd min came the sucker punch as Tubber broke through to score a goal. Raheen replied with their final point 3 mins later but this was cancelled out with another Tubber point immediately and on the stroke of full time Tubber wrapped it up as they struck for their second goal followed by their last point a minute into stoppage time. Unfortunately it was just one of those days when nothing went right for Raheen and the club would encourage all the players and management to come back next year to keep at it and try to push on to go just that 1 step further.
RAHEEN: Nigel Gorman, Karol O'Byrne, Stephen Byrne, Martin Nugent, Shane Carroll, Matthew O'Byrne, Chris Floody, Noel Gorman, Liam Gorman (0-02), Garrett Garry, Niall Leavy, Keith Quinn, Eoghan Bolton (0-02), Declan Costello, Jack Keogh.
