Congratulations to Marcus Keena, Ciaran Grennan and Conal Mahon and all the Offaly Under 20 Footballers and management on their outstanding win in the Leinster Final against Dublin in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. Best of luck in the All Ireland semi final vs Cork.
Croke Park to Ballycumber.
The Croke Park to Ballycumber run/walk to raise funds for the construction of the indoor training and games centre, Ballycumber Activity Centre, is arranged for Saturday 11thSeptember. The majority of the route is on the Grand Canal Greenway to Pollagh. Walkers/Runners will set out from Croke Park and travel to Grand Canal Dock and follow the Grand Canal to join the Greenway at Lucan Road Bridge. The journey will continue through Hazelhatch, Ardclogh, Robertstown and Allenwood in County Kildare and Edenderry, Rhode, Daingean, Ballycommon, Cappincur, Tullamore to The Thatch in Rahan and on to Pollagh. The trip from Pollagh to Ballycumber GAA Grounds will be on the road and to comply with insurance and safety concerns will be covered by a small group, fully marshalled. It is hoped that all runners/walkers would meet up close to the pitch and all walk home together.
All participants on the fundraising platform www.fundmajor.clubfaithful.ie very much appreciate the financial support they are receiving. The projected cost of the Ballycumber Activity Centre is 200,000 euros and the organising committee are confident, that with the support of the wider community, this invaluable facility will provide a location and opportunities for young and old to engage in games and healthy activities.

The Go Games will return to Ballycumber pitch for the month of August on Tuesday evenings. New members are always welcome.
