Seniors: The Senior team playing season finished on Sunday last when they were unlucky to be defeated in the semi final of the league against Doohamlet losing by 1 point on a score line of 1-13 to 1-12.  In the first half Doohamlet started brightly and led by 0-4 to 0-2 after 10 minutes with score coming from Colin Clerkin & Kevin Sheridan and the home sidescored a goal soon after and after 20 minutes led  by 1-6 to 0-3. They then increased to 9 points however Aughnamullen finished strongly with 2 Michael Bannigan points and a Colin Clerkin goal to leave it 1-10 to 1-5 at the break. In the first 10 minutes the Sarsfields scored the first 4 scores from Michael Bannigan, Tiernan Duffy, Edmond Mc Ardle and Kevin Sheridan to leave 1 between the sides. From then it became nip and tuck and scores were at a premium and entering the final 8 minutes it was 1-12 to 1-9 in favour of the home side. Aughnamullen then scored the next 3 scores from Kevin Sheridan, Edmond Mc Ardle and a monster 45 yard free from Pete Dooney to leave it 1-12 apiece 4 minutes into injury time but the scoring was not done when the referee played another 2 minutes and following a mix up in the Aughnamullen defence was capitalised by the home side when they kicked a brilliant point to the delight of the intermediate championship winners. Anyway on behalf of the club we would like to thank all the players for their effort this year and especially to the management team of Mark Hand, Seamus Mullholland, Martin Mc Ardle and first aid person Rose Mooney and to Angela Duffy who stood in for a couple of occasions. Under 17: The Under 17 team were beaten in the U17 Division 2 League Final by St Pats on Sunday morning last. This was a game where it was close until the final 5 minutes when St Pats scored 2 goals to emerge victorious by 10 points. In the first half St Pats scored a goal and a point however this was cancelled out by a Joel Wilson goal, Aughnamullen gained the initative for the next 10 with some fine scores by Jason Duffy, Thristan Keenan and Joel Wilson and a good Barry Duffy goal to go up by 5 2-3 to 1-2.  Scores were traded between the sides however St Pats scored 2 goals before the break to lead by 2 at the break 3-04 to 2-05. The second half were as equal between two equal sides with our scores coming from Thristan Keenan and Joel Wilson however St Pats finsished the stronger. AGM: The Annual General Meeting of the football club takes place on Friday 9th November in the Community Centre at 8pm following Mass for the deceased members of the club at 7.30pm in the Sacred Heart Church Lough Egish
