SENIORS
Our seniors had an excellent win away to Clontibret on Saturday last. Clontibret got the opening score and followed up quickly with another point. Andy Callan opened the scoring for Carrick and got a second point after a pass from James Conlon following a determined solo run from midfield. Stephen Gollogly got on the score sheet following a free and James Conlon fisted Carricks next point over the bar. Mark Downey scored a goal in the 25th minute following a pass from Ronan McMahon and Carrick went in at half time leading by 3 points. Clontibret opened the scoring in the second half but a point from Sean Downey showed Carricks determination. Mark Downey, Andy Callan, James Conlon and Stephen Gollogly all scored in the second half and an overall excellent team performance ensured the win. Final score Carrick 1-11, Clontibret 0-12. The team now take on Ballybay on Wednesday 6th May in Emmet Park at 7pm. Team: Niall McCarthy, John McNally, Gary McEneaney, Owen McNally, Declan Finnegan, James McGeown, Ciaran Ward, James Conlon (Captain) 0-2, Mark McNally, Stephen Gollogly 0-03, Mark Downey 1-02, Andy Callan 0-3, Sean Downey 0-1, Ronan McMahon. LA NA GCLUB
A "free for all" will take place on this Sunday in Emmet Park to celebrate one hundred and twenty-five years since the foundation of Cumann Luthchleas Gael. It is a "free" day from all fixtures throughout the county and country and its also "free" admission for everyone so why not make an attempt and attend this special occasion. Here is an open invitation to all our club members young and old, including players, supporters, families and friends of Carrickmacross Emmets to join us for some fun and games along with some other sporting activities. The proceedings start at 2.00pm and continue 'til 5.00pm, there is also some live entertainment and music. This is purely a day for family fun and enjoyment, so come along and make the most of the celebrations.
