Former Meath Goalkeeper going to play for Clare

(Oldest Posts First)

Just read on the home page that a former Meath goalkeeper is going to play for Clare next year. Does anyone know who he is.

Can think of a couple of names lad but they'd only be shots in the dark, assuming that they have played senior too...
Ricky Nolan - Duleek
Mick Ahearne - Dunshaughlin
Anyone else i can think of is either too old or involved with the current panel

Clare would hardly want a Meath hurler, would they?

Typical one of the most up and coming goalkeepers who was let go from meath set up because the powers to be wanted a goalie who did'nt played out field for his club. as usual county set up wrong. the young dunshaughlin man was an awesome shot stopper. a great loss to the county. as all can see. Good luck to him and hope all goes well.

TBH i thought he was a bit small for an intercounty keeper , which is fine if your able to read the game your kick outs are pin point accurate
From what i remember (maybe im being too critical of him) but i thought he should have saved at least one of the goals in the disaster of a game V Wexford in Carlow

Dont know where thats coming from. Cormac Sullivan, Paddy O Rourke and David Gallagher played outfield for there clubs.

he mightnt be going there to play as a keeper. from what i have seen of him hes a talented outfield player so could easily be playing outfield for them

Cattleplayer: You dont know it all, ask anybody in Clare about the day Fergus McMahon gave his namesake Seanie McMahon enough of it in a NHL match in Cusack Park, that's the one in Ennis by the way.
