Most of Antrim is bitterly opposed to GAA at a nasty level that is off the scale. Then the nationalist people opt for soccer. The GAA section is mainly hurling. Yet he nearly turned Colm over in the Semi. The expression when giving the mandatory 'winners' handshake showed a bit of annoyance at been shown up.
Well done. Just shows a change can invigorate"
Only people who know little about football and those with a bitter streak in them could argue that Andy doesn't know his football
He is a proven top level manager and i for one am not surprised he is getting a bounce out of Antrim
No doubt they will improve further fr their TC run
We new believe in what he is doing
Well done Andy

I think those are good points. I felt his Meath selections were often done with a conservative mindset, he rarely ventured off a certain game plan - and if he had a bad day, usually against the Dubs, lads would be jettisoned and never seen again. He just strikes me as a man who took poor performances personally, when with Meath. For that reason I would question his abilities at the elite level of the game - too emotional.

With Antrim, different mindset altogether. I can see Andy being a building coach for a long time to come. He will go into counties with potential and build with the raw material that is there. Not sure he will ever lead teams to glory, but that doesent mean he isnt a great coach. And he is brilliant. He has got a fine year out of Antrim and I think they can improve too.

Some of the most passionate GAA people I ever met were Belfast boys and North Antrim people - I would say, with the ever changing face of the north and the country as a whole, Antrim will emerge as a power in the next 20/30 years when the current chapter in history is put to bed. If they have a level playing field, they will thrive.

All in all he was a good Meath manager. Did very well to get to D1 and super8s but just couldn't push on and then that group of players started to age. The standard of forwards he had in his time wasn't great. I'd wish him all the best with Antrim, it seems to be suiting him starting again with a new group.

We all wish him well. I think even in first year he has done very well with them. And in interviews after the game he even said about the Meath players how a lot of them were his close friends. It put to bed I think the view that Meath lads wouldn't do all for him, and indeed the drop off this year probably showed he was getting above what should have been got within Meath panel. But he got the best out of what was there. That's all we can ask for going for Meath under any manager. And wish him well under Antrim. He will have a difficult job getting promoted next year with Down Clare Westmeath all trying their best and seemingly improving. But they may win tailteann next text year and championship games probably suit them best I'd say.
