my soft spot for all things Rathkenny must really be a blind spot!

Caoimhin and John old and all as they maybe will be sorely missed by Dunshaughlin"
You might be surprised at who is competing for Cups and who is fighting off relegation next year. Show some respect.

Replying To Crinigan:  "No point in sneering at a lad who is positive about his club team. There are no great teams in Meath sfc currently. Any senior team that he motivated, well coached and well organized has a chance, whether they be Dunsaughlin or Tones or whoever. Ratoath still look strongest however although may not have Wallaces next year."
The Wallaces have played a combined total of 10 games in the 2019 and 2020 Senior Championship and won 2 senior championships. The only game they have lost in those two games was a group game against Summerhill where Eamon made his return to play in 2019!
Eamon played 5 games in 2019 - Joey played 3 and half. Joey played in the final this year while Eamon came on in the second half - Ratoath have plenty of strength with and without them. That said, my money is on them playing next year. I am sure they will both want to be part of the County set up and I suspect they will have to play more with their club to achieve that.

I agree and disagree with you LOL. yes rataoth have plenty of strength without them but the fact remains they would not have won the final without them. Particularly Joey. Not just for his last gasp winner but his performance for the entire match. They will of course still be in the shake up for championship but i would see them as being much more beatable without the 2 lads. And in terms of them playing next year so they can be a part of the county set up well if this split season gets the green light which it looks like it will the inter county season will be over before club championship starts at all so could very well not play for the club at all next year. If they are on the county panel they won't be available for club league games anyway. Very interesting to see how it plays out.

Get off your high horse
Show some respect to who
My point remains
Dunshaughlin will be more likely fighting for senior survival not Keegan cup that's not disrespectful it's just a fact
The glory days are long gone and you need a reality check
I also think with the quality coaching of people like the Myles and Nestors and the surge in population Dunshaughlin will be strong again but not for a few years yet so get over yourself

When we played Crossmolina in the All Ireland Senior Club Championship semi final in 2003, as Leinster Senior Club Champions, many Ratoath people travelled to the Hyde to support us. I wonder what those good people think when they read your tone. No wonder you have become so unpopular.

There you go again, living in the past
I am originally from Ashbourne but had moved to Rathoath by 2003 and I too traveled to Hyde park to support the Lienster champions and what a great group of lads they were
I know what it was like to have kids in Ratoath Gaa then,
Dunshaughlin Gaa looked down their nose at Ratoath, a mear junior club and the reason your saying we have become so unpopular is because we are the noisy neighbours that have found success
The very fact that you keep referencing the past is enough for me to assume you are one of the aristocrats who believe you have the god given right to be looked at as a top team , and this only happens with continued hard work not living on your laurels
You found success with an exceptional group of lads but took your eye off the ball and are now paying the price
It will not be easy to regain the Keegan cup for Dunshaughlin,a lot of teams are pushing hard , but as I said I do think it is possible but you gotta move on
Where you in mullingar supporting Ratoath in 2019
I'll bet not

I couldn't make it to Mullingar in 2019 but I did travel to Limerick to support Ratoath against St Mary's in 2016. I will always support Meath Champions if I can. Your attitude is appalling. I'm sure Ratoath were delighted you moved to them, possibly Ashbourne too. Anyway, I'm moving on. Get over yourself and stop embarrassing your new club.

I have great time for Ratoath as a club and think what they have achieved in ten years is amazing but i totally agree with you, without the Wallace's kells would have beaten them by 7 or 8 points in the final.

On the other hand what way will it effect the club in 2021 ?

obviously some lads would not have wanted the lads back and some would lost out in a final appearance this year, if they can get everyone pulling together they could win 5 in a row but BF has to get the dressing room united.

lets be honest, it was daylight robbery this year but fair play to them.

By Myles do you mean Moyles? I watched Dunshaughlin from a distance this year (they were originally my Father's club). From the outside you can say, yes a poor team going nowhere. But management left them at the start of the year. I think there was 8 lads involved and amazingly all 8 walked away due to work commitments. Maybe they were front line workers.....

Anyway a new manager comes in, trains for two week and wins the first league match and then lockdown. They had a championship group they were never going to get out of with Dunboyne and Kells in it. This was the first year where championship was so cut throat - the manager had no chance to prepare or get his ideas across. Yes you could say Brian Farrell in Ratoath was the same, but he was dealing with a Keegan Cup winning team. Dunshaughlin were league winners I think in 2015 with Kit Henry and they should have kicked on then. Then Kit left and all of a sudden they go downhill - was it new management's fault or players or both, who knows.

Dunshaughlin have very exciting young players - Costello, Moyles, Mitchell I'd argue would start on any club team. Ben Duggan is home from travelling. They have a new recruit too, I believe, who has inter county experience, plus lads like O'Dushlaine, Niall Murphy, Toolan, Al Doyle (lads that played in the 2011 final). If they can survive senior, which they absolutely will, bring through the minor lads, they will be a force in a 2-3 years.

Dunshaughlin for me are in that second tier. Meath club football is poor. A fit, committed team with a game plan will go a long way in this championship. The championship draws can be cruel or kind. I'd put a line through Dunshaughlin this year and give them the benefit of the doubt.

100%. and confident it will be shown this year. Also , not taking anything away from Kit, But I do remember lads saying around the county at the time that Reilly was the difference in that 2015 success

So most clubs must be sorted on this front. Any surprises out there for anyone. See Kev Reilly taking the trim footballers. Good progressive move for them and will be hoping he can break that barrier for them. Will be hard to balance the hurling focus in the club particularly with the final hanging over the club

No sure it's all the fault of the refs they've had in the games this year that they are in the relegation final again.
