Anyone want to have a go at picking this? rocknroyal (Meath) - Posts: 308 - 03/01/2020 15:53:59 2257120 Link 0 |
I'd say the Summerhill team that had Gillespie at midfield and gave St Vincents a good game. That was a serious tough outfit, probably best team since that Dunsaughlin team of the early 00s.

You've got a good team there but I'd make a few changes. Conor Gillespie for David Gallagher. Brian Ennis for Martin Reilly who hasn't played much of the decade just gone? Ennis played up until 2017. Brian Hanlon should be in there also so I'll stick him in instead of Nipper O'Dwyer. 1. Marcus Brennan (Navan O'Mahonys) 2. Niall McKeigue (Navan O'Mahonys) 3. Kevin Reilly (Navan O'Mahonys) 4. Sean Curran (Donaghmore/Ashbourne) 5. Stephen Sheppard (Wolfe Tones) 6. Cormac McGuinness (Navan O'Mahonys) 7. Seamus Kenny (Simonstown Gaels) 8. Conor Gillespie (Summerhill) 9. Stephen Corrigan (Wolfe Tones) 10. Peadar Byrne (Ballinlough) 11. Joe Sheridan (Seneschalstown) 12. Brian Ennis (Summerhill) 13. Stephen Bray (Navan O'Mahonys) 14. Paddy O'Rourke (Skyrne) 15. Brian Hanlon (Gaeil Colmcille) ISupposeSoSheehan (Meath) - Posts: 86 - 03/01/2020 19:31:43 2257165 Link 0 |
Cian Ward has to be included, Top club scorer over the pase 10 years. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 527 - 03/01/2020 22:31:43 2257208 Link 1 |
Going by the response to this article being put on Facebook you must include a kells player at all costs or else you will have the kells social media mafia after you. I wouldn't have any of them in it as believe it or not there have been 15 players in the county over the last 10 years better than what kells have to offer. Apart from the league (where other teams arent at full strength) and the feis cup (now a pre season competition) they have won nothing. Maybe there is a reason none of them have been involved with Meath for the past few years? Not willing to put in the commitment required is probably the reason. They would much rather sit in the stands or at home and snigger and laugh at the lads who are giving the 100% commitment. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 987 - 04/01/2020 08:41:35 2257237 Link 0 |
BigJoe, relax. Brian Hanlon is well worth his place in the Club Team Of The Decade at corner forward. He has consistently been one of the top scoring forwards in the county. It's naive to say a team shouldn't have a player on the team just because they have won nothing in the championship. If that's the case then we're only allowed pick players from teams that won the championship? This should be based purely on individual players and not their club's achievements.

Ollie Lewis for his super fielding alone, best spring off the ground since Ken Rennicks. MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 1074 - 04/01/2020 16:04:48 2257308 Link 0 |
