March 11, 2015

On the one team once again. Sean Boylan, Gerry McEntee and Colm O'Rourke.

As Director of Games, Sean Boylan will head up a 'Football Steering Group' aimed at overseeing the implementation of the Meath Player Pathway Strategy from U14 to U21 age groups and he will be assisted by All-Ireland winners Colm O'Rourke and Gerry McEntee.

A five-man Group has been established, which also includes Operations Manager Seamus Kenny and County Board representative John Kavanagh, and its key responsibilities include the appointments of a Head of Strength and Conditioning, a Director of Fitness and managers and coaches to Academy and Development squads.

They will also be responsible for the appointment of backroom personnel to Academy and Development squads and will conduct regular reviews of training and competition within each age group as well as organising coach education and development workshops for coaches.

Four time All-Ireland winning manager Boylan's role is to develop and manage coaching within the Meath Development Pathway by ensuring a positive learning environment focused on development of young players.

The Head of Strength & Conditioning will be expected to develop and manage strength and conditioning within the Meath Development Pathway. It is envisaged that this will be a part-time role consisting of 20 hours per week.

As Operations Manager, recently retired Meath star Kenny will liaise with the Director of Games and the Head of Strength & Conditioning to ensure a comprehensive, coherent and structured programme is offered to players with the Meath Talent Academy.
