Meath 2-13 Wicklow 0-7
Meath paved the way for victory over Wicklow in the Leinster U16 FT semi-final during this game on Wednesday 27th October. A Semi-Final at St Patrick's, Wicklow when they finished level at the break despite playing against a gale force wind.
The pressure was on the Meath defence for most of the half, yet Meath were able to make their breaks down field pay, while Wicklow missed many opportunities.
The crucial score of the half for Meath was Cillian Finn's goal which put Meath a head 1-1 to 0-3. The teams exchanged the lead again before Wicklow got an equaliser before the break.
H/T: Meath 1-3 Wicklow 0-6
With the wind on their backs, Meath quickly asserted themselves with 5 successive points (Darren Mallon, Cillian Finn, David Dalton, Colm Carry and Sean Keating).
David Dalton was then taken down in the square and Stephen Sheppard got Meath's second goal from the resulting penalty.
Meath were able to add another 5 points to Wicklow's one point as conditions got even tougher with wind and rain. It was a pity that the weather made it very difficult for both teams.
