U20 FC Div 3: Comfortable start for Jenkinstown Gaels
The Jenkinstown Gaels squad that defeated Bective
Jenkinstown Gaels had a comfortable thirteen point win over Bective in the opening round of the Coolrite Div. 3 Group A played at Bective on Sunday morning 11th October.

Independent side Jenkinstown Gaels consisting of players from Blackhall Gaels, Kilbride and Moynalvey had too much in hand for Bective, with most of the damage being done in the first half whereby the visitors outscored the home side 2-9 to no score.
Of that first half 2-9 the nine points came from Warren Rogers, Evan Drum, Fiachra Coffey, Calbhach O’Ceallaigh (2), Liam Jennings (3), and Cillian Murphy. Calbhach O’Ceallaigh set up Evan Drum who tapped to the net from close range and a second goal for the independent side from O’Ceallaigh left it 2-9 to no score to Jenkinstown Gaels at half time.
With the two points essentially in the bag at the break a multitude of Jenkinstown Gaels substitutions in the second half, Bective found their feet and got into the game in the second half.
The first two scores of the second half went Bective’s way with a goal and a point in the opening five minutes. Liam Jennings and Warren Rogers responded for Jenkinstown making it 2-11 to 1-1 nine minutes into the second half.
Three Bective points with a Liam Jennings effort sandwiched in between left it 2-12 to 1-4 with three quarters of an hour played.
A pair of Liam Jennings points and one from substitute Aaron McCabe left it 2-15 to 1-5 with ten minutes remaining.
A further 1-1 from the home side left it 2-15 to 2-6 with four minutes remaining, but there was still time for a further 1-1 for Jenkinstown Gaels, full back David Regan raiding forward forward for a point and a third goal for Jenkinstown from substitute Kilian McGivern put that extra piece of gloss on the full time score of 3-16 to 2-6.
Best for the winners were Liam Jennings, Calbhach O’Ceallaigh, Warren Rogers, Fiachra Coffey, Luke Flaherty, Mark Foley, Barry O’Leary and David Regan.
