IHC semi final: Goals power Clann na nGael into final

Clann na nGael booked their place in the Intermediate Hurling Championship final with this comprehensive win over Drumree at Devenish Park.

The winners raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 in the opening ten minutes of the first half with fine efforts from Eamon O Donnchadha, Luke Ennis and Joe Ennis. Sean Doyle brought Drumree back into the game with three pointed free and along with a Daniel Morris effort the sides were level after twenty minutes.

Clann na nGael finished the half with a flourish. Conor McGovern pointed before O Donnchadha raised the games first green flag. Luke Ennis sent over the score of the match from a sideline cut and minutes later Joe Ennis was in for goal number two. Clann na nGael went to the dressing room 2-9 to 0-6 in front. 

A Doyle brace, that included another excellent sideline cut narrowed that lead early in the second half but goals from McGovern and O Donnchadha put paid to any chance of a comeback from Fergal O’Neill’s men.

Clann na nGael take on Rathmolyon in the final on Saturday, 10th October at 13:00 in Kiltale.
