O'Mahony's lost out to St. Pats in round 2 of the JHC at Stamullen

Navan O’Mahony’s 1-10
St Patricks 3-12

Navan O’Mahony’s lost out to St Patricks in the second round of the JHC on Friday evening in Stamullen, with a better second half performance not enough to bride the gap that had grown between the sides in the first.

O’Mahony’s got off to a good start in the opening ten minutes but struggled to convert this to the scoreboard. The hosts hit a couple of points, extending the lead with a goal before O’Mahony’s got on the scoreboard through Diarmuid Collins.

Collins and midfielder Colm O’Toole added scores before half time but at this stage St Patricks had extended their lead with another two goals.

O’Mahony’s again got off to a good start in the second half and reduced the deficit with points from O’Toole and Collins. St Patricks however managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over and held O’Mahony’s at arms length.

A point from Eoghan McDermott and a late goal from Collins wasn’t enough to bridge the deficit – with a win and a loss in the competition, Drumree await in the final group game.
