The Minor Football Championship is up and running.

Delany Cup holders and recent Division 1 FL winners St. Colmcilles had little difficulty in seeing off the O’Mahony’s challenge at home on a surprising 2-18 to 1-4 scoreline.

It was double delight for Dunboyne with wins for their Division 1 and 5 teams. St. Ultans Cortown Gaels led Dunboyne in their Division 1 game in Rooske by 1-11 to 1-4 at the break. Second half goals from Eoghan McDonald and Shea Mooney turned the tide in the direction of last year's finalists.

There were also top tier wins for Simonstown over Donaghmore Ashbourne and Summerhill over Skryne. The Hill and Skryne were level in the closing moments at Fr McManus Park before a late two pointer from Conall O'Reilly earned the win for the visitors.

Division 3 FL winners Gaeil Colmcille got their Division 2 campaign off to a great start with ten points to spare over Na Fianna. St. Michaels/Nobber secured an impressive win over Division 2 FL winners Killary Emmets.
