Trim 4-23 Kildalkey 2-14

Trim made it two from two in the Meath Senior Hurling Championship with this comfortable victory over neighbours Kildalkey on Pitch 6 at Devenish Park Dunganny.

The Village totally dominated the opening 25 minutes and led 2-11 to 0-8 the goals coming from Conor Fitzgerald and Nicky Potterton. Trim rallied in the closing five minutes and closed the gap to a three thanks to points from Mikey Cole, James Murray and Kyle Ennis along with a Davy Murtagh goal. Half time 2-11 to 1-11.

The Town side took over in the second half. Mikey Cole, who finished with 2-7, got in for their second goal and Trim were in front. Murray and the Cole brother Mikey and Joey were to the fore as Trim opened up an eight point gap as the game entered the last ten minutes. Kyle Ennis and Mikey Cole put the seal on a fine performance with goals in the closing stages.

Next up for the winners are Kilmessan while Kildalkey, who have lost both opening rounds face Na Fianna.

Having lost their opening round Trim’s second string completed a good weekend with a 3-17 to 0-13 victory over Kilmessan in the Intermediate Hurling Championship B at Rathmolyon.
