Kilmessan 2-17 Ratoath 0-23

Kilmessan and Ratoath played out an entertaining draw in the opening round of the Meath Senior Hurling Championship played in perfect conditions at Lomans Park Trim.

Kilmessan led at the break 0-11 to 0-9. The Jubilee Cup holders hit five unanswered points early in the second half but goals from Mark Horan and Joey Keena gave Kilmessan a one point lead with time running out. 

Ben McGowan, and the O’Hanrahan brothers Ciaran and Padraig pointed and Ratoath looked set for victory.  Kilmessan had other ideas and scores from Kevin Keenan and the equaliser from Seanie Doyle left both teams sharing the opening round spoils.

Padraig O’Hanrahan scored an amazing 15 points for Ratoath.
