Kilskyre Moylagh 3-17 Killyon 0-18 

A fine summer's evening in Kildalkey set the scene for Kilskyre Moylagh's first outing at Senior B level, and the newcomers didn't disappoint. Against a Killyon side with plenty of experience at this grade, they worked hard for every score to come away with a deserved win.

Goals win games and whilst Darren O'Higgins was well marshalled for long stretches —he punished Killyon when the chances came. His first goal on 11 minutes was a real quality score, a brilliant catch and clean finish that showed exactly why Killyon were so anxious to keep him quiet. 

Tom Shine was man of the match and earned it. He covered every blade of grass in midfield, won his own ball, and knocked over points from all angles. His contribution was the engine that drove Kilskyre Moylagh forward all evening. Rennicks McDermot, Geraghty and McCaffrey put in strong shifts on the night with the latter both contributing with a point each from play.

Willie McGrath top scorer on the night with all his points from placed balls finishing the evening with 1-08 to his name, with his goal coming in the 17th minute of the second half which effectively killed off any hope of a Killyon comeback.

Killyon will be disappointed, they created chances, but conceding three goals was the undoing of them. 

Kilskyre Moylagh will be happy to get off the mark, but their accuracy will need to improve as the championship heats up. The work rate was there. The result was there. Now the fine-tuning begins.
