The Rathbeggan joint captain accounted for all of his side's tally. Ballivor, playing with the aid of the elements, were left to rue a number of missed opportunities over the course of the game.

In a low-scoring first half, Diaz Cooper registered 1-2 before St. Columbanus N.S. got on the scoreboard through an Ódhran Cunningham goal. Cunningham then gave Ballivor the lead with an early second-half green flag, but the remainder of the contest belonged to Diaz Cooper. The influential midfielder struck six further points to seal victory for Rathbeggan and secure the title for his school.

After the game, Gerry Conroy presented the Division 3 Cup to Rathbeggan joint captains Antonio Diaz Cooper and Zach Saimeh.
