Carnaross N.S. created history in Lomans Park, Trim, on Thursday by winning the school's first-ever Meath Cumann na mBunscol hurling title. The North Meath school had suffered heartbreak in the Division 5 Hurling Finals of 2024 and 2025, but made it third time lucky with this memorable victory. PHOTOS

A tally of 2-3 from midfielder Jack Brady proved crucial in securing the historic win. The team in maroon and gold led 2-5 to 1-3 at half-time. Brady gave Carnaross the perfect start with two goals, while Hugh Woods, James Brady (2) and Brady himself (2) added points as Carnaross opened up a 2-5 to 0-1 lead. Killyon finished the half strongly, however, with a Jack Quinn goal and a brace of points from David Feeney leaving just five points between the sides at the interval.

Brady and Feeney traded points in the opening minutes of the second half. Carnaross then failed to score for the remainder of the contest, while Killyon gradually narrowed the deficit to the minimum through points from Killian Mitchell (3) and Seán Mulchrone. However, the score needed to force a replay never arrived, and Carnaross were crowned champions.

After the game, Barbara Munnelly presented the Division 5 Cup to joint captains Kieran Yore and Dillon Finn.
